Hello, I just finished Level 1 of the Beginner's Workshop and am totally addicted to Photo Impact now. I joined this forum and the PIRC forum as a requirement of Lesson 32 in Level 2 and, since I haven't made a sig tag yet in PI, I will until I get to that lesson.
I got interested in graphics around 2001 when I saw a friend's signature tag in her email and asked her how she got one! She told me she used Paint Shop Pro. I found tutorials and joined groups and then as the years went on, I discovered Photoshop (3 years ago) and took classes in it.
I co-own a Yahoo group and one of the members shares items she has made using Photo Impact. What I was so impressed by was how realistic her projects looked and such variety of things she makes! Very impressive stuff and I asked her where do you find the program? Another member sent me the link at Corel (it is well hidden, isn't it?) so I bought X3 and started lessons with Leenie as my mentor.
I live in northern California with my hubby and our fur baby, Kiki (cat). We are both retired but are busier than when we worked! lol We live near my adult children and my grandchildren. I love taking photos of them, our cat, my grand-dogs (Leyla, Casey and Sunny), flowers.
This is probably the longest post you'll see from me - mostly I just make brief comments...really! :wiggle
I look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome, Steph! Congrats on getting out of Level One and into Level Two! I started with PI, took a course in PSP (don't like PSP) and took a short course in PS (like that better than PSP) and my favorite is still PI. LOL

Looking forward to seeing you around here, even with short posts! lol

Thanks, Hildi, for the welcome. I am slowly getting oriented since during the week, I am busy with "grandma duty" so don't get on the computer much except to check email and maybe try a lesson or two. :) On top of it all, right now, it is baseball season for youngest grandson and soccer season is coming up quickly and both the grandson and his older sister play. Gets interesting trying to balance game attendance, I'll tell you.

Welcome Steph and do drop by the Camera Club we are always taking photos of all kinds of things and have a new topic every few weeks. I am all but 30 minutes from Brentwood via the famous Vasco Road and my daughter lived in Discovery Bay for around ten years.

Hi, John - I just wrote Mary about the Camera Club actually. I don't have a fancy camera (although I WANT one!! DSLR is my dream). I use a Panasonic Lumix and it does everything I need it to do so I don't NEED a fancy camera but you know how that is. lol
My daughter and her hubby commute every day using Vasco Road. She works in San Ramon (almost at the Dublin line though) at FedEx and he works Livermore, Dublin area.

I can relate to grandma duty's. I have my grandson staying with me at the moment, because as we had the flood in Brisbane, his Parents home went under the water and has to dry out first before they can rebuild. They split up and live with friends for the time being and so I have my grandson.
