1961 - 2005
Sadly missed .

I was a member of Debs PI Newbies yahoo group and I learned so much of what I know about PI from her wonderful tuts. I am glad that some part of Deb will live on.

As a new PI learner, her tuts were some of the first one's I tried. They were very helpful. So many times we visit tut sites yet know nothing about the creative person behind the scene. I know she is missed by many people.

Many years ago there were just
a handful of PI users that were actually posting tutorials. We
were all about at the same place with our knowledge...some a little
more, some a little less. But even today, when I think of PI,
certain names seem to follow. Deb Dehaven is certainly one of
them. Certain web sites seem to be associated with this as well.
Thru the years friendships are forged over the net, life and loved
ones are shared just as friendships were meant to do. Many of
us have moved on as life dictates to other pursuits...other passions.
But I dare say all of us, from time to time, revisit those web
sites and renew those friendships for such an ever brief moment.
I will miss the times Deb and I discussed PI and that portion
of each others lives as was appropriate for two friends to share.
Make no mistake. This event will not deter that friendship. It
just means we will have a lot more to share...when next we meet.
To her family, my heart and prayers be with you always.

I started talking to Deb at a computer forum back
then known as CALL FOR HELP because of the computer show I watched
on ZDTV with the same name & Deb watched that show too. That
was around 1998. We became pretty good online friends back then
because we both s hared the passion of learning the ins &
outs of the computer and enjoyed the way Leo Laporte, host of
CFH, explained things in plain english. I can still remembered
how excited she was when she got to meet him in person & got
his autograph.
It wasn't long before she started helping others on the computer
forum and from there started designing stationery, backgrounds
and many other things using her PI program which I too have always
used. She was never too busy to help me when I emailed her with
questions and to this day I still use the tile set she designed
for my background on my homepage.
I lost touch with her until recently when I came across her email
address and sent her a short note asking if it was still her and
was totally shocked when herhusband responded to me and told me
what happened. She will be missed by alot of people and there
are those that still don't realize she is gone. I hope God will
watch over her family and that Deb is at peace now.

I was so sad to find out that Deb had passed away, I sent an email asking if she had moved sites as I found her tutorials so helpfull and easy for me to understand, even though I didn't know Deb personally(I wish I had had that special priviledge) I felt like I did, she was one fine lady so knowledgable and seems like always took time out to help and teach people and I can feel her friendliness in all of her explanations and her website..thank you David for allowing pirc to continue to pass on your wifes wonderful work, knowledge, thoughtfulness and keep her dreams alive....my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family always..God Bless..

I only just today, 5/16/06, found out that Deb
had passed away. She had many friends online and will be missed
deeply.
Thank you to David for allowing her tutorials to be shared. I
have to believe she's in Heaven making it more beautiful as she
teaches the angels her techniques.

Quiet and unassuming, Deb was a
woman of many talents who is sorely missed.
Her contributions to the PI community are well known to so many
of us who knew her. For those who never had the opportunity to
meet and know Deb, she lives on through her tutorials.
My thoughts and prayers go out to David and the children.
Thank you David for allowing us to continue to learn from her
through her tutorials.

I knew Deb for quite some time. My fondest memories with Deb was being in the mirc chat room. We were all resident in there with a few other people as well. Deb knew how to put a smile on your face. She was always there helping and just being there to talk.

I never knew or had the privelege
of knowing Deb DeHaven, however since becoming a part of PIRC
and now PII I've seen and done many of Deb's tutorials and learned
a lot from them.
It's sad to think an intelligent
human being, wife, mother, friend etc etc has been lost through
illness and or disease. I see she will be very sadly missed by
her family and friends.
My respects and regards to you
all.

I learned so much from Deb's tuts. My thoughts and prayers are with David and family.

I was not fortunate enough to have
taken Deb's course but through my association with the PIRC board
and the workshop there I became very familiar with her awesome
talent in using PhotoImpact. Her name was synonymous with PhotoImpact.
As the tutorial database manager,
it was a sad time when we lost Deb's valuable tutorial collection
that so many had come to treasure.
To her husband David and her children,
I know I express the profound gratitude of us all, for allowing
her tutorials to be a permanent tribute to an outstanding person
within the PI community.
Bernie Jones 05-07-2006
Deb's PhotoImpact Newbies class was my first encounter
with PI. I have never regretted taking that wonderful course,
as it gave me a perfect and solid foundation for using PhotoImpact
and taught me techniques I am still using on a daily base.
Thank you so much for what you have done for the
PhotoImpact Community, Deb. I will always remember you as a talented,
kind and sharing person.
I would like to express my sincere feelings of
gratitude to David and his family for allowing the PIRC Network
to host Deb's wonderful legacy.
